A little about our weekend

On Saturday, we went to the Western Swing Music Festival. We had a nice time. We enjoyed good music, beautiful weather and yummy kennel corn.

Miss Amelia turns one today!! We will be in the DFW area at the same time, and the Mommies can't wait for their girls to meet each other and play together!

Hello, new friend Charlotte!

My new friend, Charlotte Elizabeth Gunnels, was born early this morning. I am smiling in this picture because I can't wait to meet her. Someday, we will both be big enough to play dress up together. Her mommy (Mrs. Emily) and my mommy went to graduate school together, but they really bonded over their love of shoes.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all the Mom's had a good Mother's Day. We had a good day. James got up and made breakfast. After relaxing a bit, Emmy took a nap and I went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I ended up with a stinging sunburn! James grilled dinner and then we enjoyed chocolate cake. We also saw Iron Man this weekend. It was pretty good!

Happy Adopt-a-versary Daisy

Yesterday, Daisy and I celebrated 11 years together!











Reflecting on 11 years ago this spring/summer, there were a lot of things that happened:
-Tara graduated from A&M, whoop!
-but then we had to move out of the dorms :(
-I spent my last summer in Bedford/Azle
-collectively, in August, I have spent 11 years living in either College Station or Austin area!
-Katie and I moved into the apartments together.

Visit with Aunt Becky

Aunt Becky came down for the weekend and we had a great time. On Friday, we had fajitas with Gina and Adam. On Saturday, Becky started at 7:00 am on her bike "ride." She rode from Austin to Shiner, TX (100 miles). Of course, James and I had to take the opportunity to visit the Shiner Brewery.


Emmy is ready for her day outside in her fun hat! Luckily, she didn't get sunburn. I can't wait until she is 6 mo. and can use sunscreen.
