Easter, With Family!
Emmy finally got to meet her Aunt Courtney, Gram and Pa. She did really well over the weekend with a lot of interaction and not being on a schedule.

Happy First Easter, Emmy!
I couldn't help but take Emmy to visit the Easter Bunny last weekend. MeMaw and I headed up to the mall, dreading the lines. We lucked out-no lines! Emmy was sleeping when we arrived and we did what we could to get a picture with her eyes open.
Can you see the little Easter eggs on her dress?
The Easter Bunny visited Emmy on Sunday morning. I postponed getting a basket until next year. This is a compilation of goodies from her Grandmas and us.
This was a "My First Easter" Egg sleeper with a bunny tail from Katie. The bunny tail is so soft you just have to keep rubbing her bum.
Emmy was still able to fit in this newborn dress from her Aunt Courtney. It was her "going home" outfit too. We had to do a turn around on our way to church, as Emmy was screaming her head off. I should have planned better, but we ended up at noon Spanish mass. It was a good thing I had James there to translate for me.

Happy 6 Weeks, Emmy!
Emmy is 6 weeks old today! I promise there will be a lot of pictures after this weekend, but right now I am cleaning up and finishing up on grading exams from Tuesday. She gets to meet her Aunt Courtney for the first time today and see her Grandma and Papa Dubuisson. Tomorrow she will meet her Great Grandparents: Gram & Pa. On Saturday: Great Aunt Di and the cousins on that side. Plus, the Easter Bunny will visit on Sunday if she is a good girl.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
MeMaw and Grandpa Wilson came to visit Miss Emmy this weekend. It was a good weekend for me, because I knew Emmy would be in good hands. And she literally was "in hands" almost all weekend. Of course, my mom did not want to put her down. I was able to go work out and mow the yard (with my dad's help - James worked on Sat.) This slide show is of my mom's favorites...she copied them to a folder and we sent them off for printing, so I decided to put a show together. Some of them you may have seen, but there are some new ones too.
We have a pretty busy week. I have a couple of meetings tomorrow and I go back to the graduate (night) class tomorrow. I have another meeting on Thursday, and then Gram and Pa (Emmy's Great Grandparents) are coming in on Friday. Mary and Jimmy and Courtney are coming as well. On Saturday, we are going to see Great Aunt Di and all the cousins on that side! So, postings may be limited this week!! But, there will be a lot of catching up to do!

Emmy's Pink & Brown Outfit
When Jammie visited she made fun of me for putting Miss Emmy in the pink outfit with chocolate bows, so often. She said, “it must be a favorite.” Well, last night Emmy was cold after her bath and I wanted to warm her up! With the reality that it is supposed to be NINETY something degrees today, I thought, if she doesn’t outgrow it soon the weather is going to force us out of it, so yes, I posted more pictures with her in the same outfit.
By the way, she is already outgrowing some newborn outfits :(. We are starting to look at our stash of 3 months clothes and making sure they are washed and ready to go…as the newborn clothes become tight in the legs and ¾ sleeve tops.

Playing with Austin (Edited 3-17-08)
We had two "play dates" yesterday. First, we met Mrs. Tracy and Miss Hannah (6 mo.) for lunch. We ate at the yummy Brick Oven restaurant. Then, last night, the Swienteks came over. It was the first time for them to meet Emmy. Kelli, John and Austin (3 mo.) were on their way down to visit their Babka (Austin's Great Grandma). It was so funny to watch them "play" together, aka kick their legs and swing their arms at the same time!!

She doesn't like...
Chili...
It's a shame. Since it was so rainy and yucky on Monday, we decided to make Chili. We made two pots, a "James" version and a non-spicy "Kelly" version. Normally, I have no problem with the spice, but I am being extra conscience of spices with the breast feeding. Monday night and Tuesday morning was full of an exhausting, fussy Emmy. After her noon-time nap, she was back to her lovely self - thank goodness!! So, Chili is now off the list, along with James' salsa (we discovered that when Jammie visited). Surprising enough, she is doing OK with boiled shrimp (which James has also been making two batches).

Our Weekend
Here are a few pictures of Emmy from over the weekend. We had a nice weekend with a rainy Monday. James came home from work and it was like a 3 day weekend. I think Emmy is going through a growth spurt. She is going through a very fussy time...luckily James has masted the "swaddle" which calms her down - until she realizes her hands are restrained. We try to rock or bounce her to sleep by that point.
Emmy really likes to keep warm. We normally have at least two blankets on her. She is definitely a Texas girl!

Disney likes to keep an eye on Emmy. Daisy is not interested.

So pretty after her bath! She likes her water a specific temperature...not too hot and not too cold.
We made Saturday evening our "out" night. We went to church and then we went up to run some errands and to eat. She was good the whole night. She won't "let" us eat dinner at home, but she slept through the smells and sounds of Texas Roadhouse (after a 45 minute wait - urgh). She woke up in Borders, but we were all ready to get home at that point!

Emmy is working on her smile for all of you!

For MeMaw
Here is a little video of Emmy "playing." For some of you, this may be a little boring. But for others, you can see how much more she is moving and stretching out (and she KNOWS she is hitting the bird toy :) )
Working and Voting Lady...
So far, we have had a very busy week. First, we had a candidate in at work. I have been serving on the search committee. Although no one REQUIRED me to be at the meetings, it was important that I was there. They were video taping everything, and I wanted to also avoid watching video of a 1-day interview process! So Emmy and I woke up Monday morning to get ready for work! She was so good all day. She slept through the important meetings, entertained during lunch, and Daddy picked her up at 4. I met with them until 5:40...although she was an angel all day, I don't know that she would have made it that late!
Yesterday was a big day for us as well. Emmy dressed up in her "Tiny Democrat" onsie and we headed out to vote. After James got home from work, we also went to caucus (wierd-o Texas!). It was fun and everyone was impressed that she had her first voting and caucus experience at 3 1/2 weeks old!
