3 Weeks Old

Here are some pictures from Emmy over the past week.

Another problem with pictures, Emmy moves so much they come out blurry.
Sleeping on Momma before the Academy Awards...that is our ballot. We didn't make it through the whole show to see who scored their ballots most accurately.

Two Weeks Old

In some ways the last two weeks have been very long and in some ways they have gone by SO QUICK! Yesterday (Thursday) Emmy was two weeks old. On Wednesday, we went to the pediatrician for her 2 week "well" check up. She was back up to her birth weight of 7 lbs 2 oz and she already grew 1/2 inch. James says she is just stretching out 1/2 inch more. Everything else sounded and looked good. She was amazing during her 2nd state test. They pricked her foot and she let out a little fuss, but then she just cuddled as the nurse had to squeeze a lot of blood out of her little foot to fill all the circles. I go in for my two week check up on Monday, but all should be fine with that as well.

Get Well Miss A

We were so sad yesterday when we figured out that Tara and Amelia were not going to be able to visit and meet Emmy. Tara and Amelia live in Colorado and are visiting the Dallas area. Tara was going to drive down on Saturday to visit, but we postponed to Sunday to avoid yucky weather. Unfortunately, Amelia was not feeling well on Sunday. So being a smart and consientious parent, Tara decided not to travel and possibly expose Miss E to any bugs.

Hopefully, the girls will have another time to meet in the near future. Get well, Amelia.

Congrats 1/2 Marathon Finishers

Congratulations to Becky, Matt, Krissi, Vicki and Paul for completing the Austin 1/2 Marathon. The marathon was this Sunday and they had beautiful weather. All completed the 1/2 marathon successfully! Maybe next year for me?

Until then, it is time to think about feeding Miss Emmy!

A message from Emmy

We had a very busy weekend with a lot of visitors. My momma took a lot of pictures of me with my family and friends! Daddy also went back to work today and I miss him so much already. So, now Momma and I are left to cleaning up the house and getting back on schedule. I will try to take a good nap this afternoon so Momma can post more pictures!

A good night!

We have been spoiled by 3 good nights sleep since we got home (yes, we have been home 4 nights). On Sunday, she must have been missing her Grandparents because she cried almost all of the night. I took her until about 2:30 and then James took the next shift. She was perfectly happy yesterday. All went well with her hospital check up yesterday. Last night we watched a movie. Although she was a bit fussy when we "went" to bed, she finally calmed down with a swaddling and feeding. She woke up for a 3:00 feeding and slept until this morning. I keep my fingers crossed that we keep up with this trend.
